Introducing Our Tampon Monitor.
After decades with little to no progress in menstrual solutions, innovation has finally come to the period in the last few years, with a wide variety of menstrual user experience improvements addressing a wide variety of needs. It's time for a smart solution to leakage and menstrual anxiety that serves the USA's number one period product: the tampon. Welcome to my.Flow.
The world's first tampon monitor, my.Flow allows you to check how full your tampon is as easily as you would check tomorrow's weather forecast. Our small wearable current prototype attaches discreetly to your pants, shorts, or underwear, allowing you to easily feed in the string from our companion tampons. When first turned on, my.Flow connects to your phone via Bluetooth, and remembers your device so that it can easily reconnect every time. Simply clip on the wearable, insert your tampon as normal, and then insert the tampon string into the wearable, and you're ready to go! Check our app to see how full your tampon is, set custom notifications, and look at your flow history.
Our connected tampons contain no circuitry, batteries, or anything else that you wouldn't want inside your body. The only differences between our tampons and what you buy off the shelf are a longer tail, and medical-grade conductive thread no thicker than a human hair. Because of how simple they are, they can be thrown away just like any other tampon.
my.Flow is a new way of learning about your body, and has many applications, from young menstruators just learning about their periods to women suffering from Abnormal Uterine Bleeding. We're here to bring Peace of Mind. Period.

What people are saying about my.Flow
"An affordable device, like my.Flow, could empower women’s health, allowing them to manage their flow when conditions are less than ideal and, in some cases, downright dangerous." - Stephanie Castillo, Medical Daily
"My last couple of periods, at the heavy and unpredictable points, I kept thinking, 'my.Flow, hurry up! I need you!'"
- Joanna, 39, New York
"This Bluetooth tampon is going to change everything about your period." -Brittney McNamara, Teen Vogue
"I just really want to say what an awesome idea my.Flow is! Why wasn't my.Flow around when I was younger? It instantly caught my attention because some girls might say that knowing when to change your tampon is common sense, but it seriously isn't for me. I've experienced many leaks when I was in middle school & high school, when I was unable to escape class. Once when I was in about 8th grade, I didn't realize my tampon was full and I leaked all over my chair, and it was one of the most embarrassing moments of my whole life. I can remember the boy I was sitting next to teasing me; I was actually bullied for a while for it, and I could never wish that moment upon anyone. I can't tell you how handy this product will really be! I mean, anything that could prevent that happening to any other girls (especially young girls) would be amazing. Even if you didn't always rely on the product, just being reassured that you're not leaking would be so helpful." - Jessica, 19, Michigan
"This is amazing thank you! I am a cocktail server in Cocoa Beach, Florida. I work outside for 8-12 hour shifts and I sweat constantly...This would be a life saver because honestly I can't even tell myself when I am sweating vs. bleeding, and I'm constantly checking to make sure my khaki shorts aren't screaming shark bate!! I am looking forward to purchasing this product hopefully in the near future!" - Melissa, 28, Florida
"Sounds like an interesting and useful product - a very impressive venture indeed! I can't wait to try it when it comes out." - Michele, 37, San Francisco
"[my.Flow is] the smartest thing you can put in your vagina." - Alex Cranz, Gizmodo
"This sounds like an excellent invention!" - Jennifer, 25, Kentucky
"So my period was late as usual & I remembered to bring a 'just in case tampon' for the last few days, but I forgot today & got my period & have gone almost 8 hours waiting to get a tampon. Thought about how awesome my.Flow would have been!"

Frequently Asked Questions
What’s inside the tampon?
The only thing added inside our tampons are strands of conductive thread, made using medical-grade materials which are safely used in implants that stay inside the human body for decades. These threads are no thicker than a human hair, and are completely harmless.
Will this device harm me?
Absolutely not. The tampon itself emits no wireless signal of any type, despite what some news outlets have claimed, and the signal emitted by the wearable when it communicates with our app is significantly weaker than that emitted by your phone.
Why can’t I just feel when my tampon’s full?
Although some menstruators have the ability, whether by feel or regularity, to know when they need to change their tampon, many have no way of knowing for sure when their tampon is full or not. Our product is designed to allow the menstruators who can’t to feel this peace of mind that would otherwise be impossible.
How does it work?
With our current working model, the conductive thread in the tampon's string attaches to our wearable belt clip, allowing the clip to read out saturation level of the tampon. The wearable then transmits this data to your phone, where our app reads, interprets, and displays it.
Will you make a product for pads?
We are currently prioritizing our tampon monitor product, but are planning on making a product for pads, and even for other absorbant surfaces such as diapers, soon. We start with the tampon because while tampons are impossible to check during use, pads can be checked when their wearer uses the restroom. Because of this, and because of the prevalence of tampons as the USA’s number one period product, we've thus far been sticking with tampons.
